The Rallye du Maroc was taken over in January 2018 by David Castera and the team from his company ODC Events.

David Castéra began his career as a professional endurance and rally-raid driver. French national endurance champion in 1992, he was runner-up in the world junior endurance team championship in 1993.

Continuing to compete in the French and World Endurance Championships, he started rally-raiding in 1992 with the Tunisia Rally, followed by the Paris-Beijing Rally at the age of 21 (2 participations), the Atlas Rally, the Abu-Dhabi Desert Challenge Rally and 5 Paris-Dakars, finishing 3rd in 1997.
